When people face hunger, they often struggle to meet other basic needs, such as housing, employment, and healthcare. That’s why GFB, founded by Spiritwind Christian Centre, is committed to more than providing food for people in need. GFB actively works to support those accessing our services by connecting them with both internal and external support programs that further meet their diverse needs and situations.

We don’t just help fill bellies; we help support the overall well-being of our clients.
Pre-packed and Fresh Items
Our clients can pick up their pre-packed food hampers and choose from an array of fresh items such as produce dairy, eggs and bread. This ‘modified shopping model’ allows clients the liberty to choose what works for their individual needs in their households and provides them with dignity in being able to choose.
Diabetes, Celiac, Kosher and Halal options
We are able to provide when in stock, specialty diet foods to support those with Diabetes, Celiac, Kosher and Halal options (when available).

Clients can come in Monday to Friday between 9 am and 11:45 am to be seen without an appointment. New clients will need the following to register:

We will also ask for your primary income source to help us get a better picture of the needs within our community. This also helps us to advocate for change within Guelph and share our data with Feed Ontario and Food Banks Canada, who support change at the provincial and federal levels.
This is NOT mandatory. Information you share remains completely confidential.
Current Clients
Active clients are required to bring ID every time they come to access GFB services. Acceptable forms of ID include; government issued photo ID or mail with the clients name and local address matching the information on file.
Annual Updates
On your first visit of the calendar year, you will be asked to update the information on your file as if registering for the first time. We also ask that you update intake staff as information changes during the year.

If your street falls within one of these areas, click on that neighbourhood name in the list below the map for detailed information. If you do not see your location in a shaded neighbourhood area, you will be headed to the main hub Guelph Food Bank location at 100 Crimea Street which serves ALL areas not within a shaded neighbourhood block.
If you are unsure, you are welcome call us at 519-767-1380 and we will be happy to assist you. You are also welcome to come to our 100 Crimea St. location to register and we will refer you to a location closer to you if applicable.
Also, If you identify as First Nations, Métis, or Inuit peoples, the Anishnabeg Outreach centre welcomes you from ANY postal code throughout the city.

You are welcome to come to our main 100 Crimea St, Guelph, ON N1H 2Y6 location to receive help and may be referred to another location if there is one that services your area and therefore closer to where you live.

The hours at this main location are 9am-11:45am Monday through Friday (no access weekends or stat holidays). Days and Hours of service vary by satellite location.
You may be referred to another location that is closer to where you live as we strive to make food emergency more accessible to all we serve in the community. Please check our 'what you need to bring with you to register' at the top of this page.
Satellite access within the neighbourhood boundaries vary.
Please note that the following satellites are limited to the tennants in the building.
They are: 7 Christopher Court, 10 Shelldale, Bemo Haus, ECOTT, Grace Gardens, and Thresholds.
Onward Willow Neighbourhood Group services only the following addresses: 6, 15 & 26 Willow, and 36 Dawson.
Brant Ave NG, Grange Hill NG, Two Rivers and West Village Co-op service strictly within their neighbourhood boundaries

We also service as far as Aberfoyle, Ariss, Marden and Puslinch (if not in Cambridge Food Bank zone).

No one ever plans to need services such as a Food Bank until they do. The reality is that many in our community just don’t have the means to get by.
The decline in jobs that pay a living wage and employer pensions benefits, loss of jobs due to lay-offs and increases in interest rates, mean that many of our neighbours are unable to get the basic necessities for their families.
Getting There
The closest regular bus stop is located at Paisley and Alma on the Imperial (10) line.
A quick and easy way to determine the best bus route from where you live to your applicable servicing point is by using Google Maps and selecting 'Transit' as your direction type.
‘On Demand’ bus stop
Guelph Transit has an ‘On Demand’ bus stop located directly in front of our building – it is highly recommended that you pre-book this service if looking to use it as wait times can otherwise be upwards of 45 minutes.

Food Collection
We have a network of amazing partners who help us keep our pantries stocked to provide enough food to share with our clients and their families. Daily deliveries and driver pick-ups at partner locations of non-perishable and perishable items are weighed, sorted and stocked by our warehouse manager and many volunteers who help keep this program running smoothly.
We couldn’t do it without our great team of volunteers!

Co-op Placements
High school students seeking a co-op program through their schools and are welcome to do so with us. We offer flexible placement times in a safe, positive environment that fosters the growth is rewarding. We will help you grow as an individual ready to embark on your journey into the workforce.

Our Adopt-A-Family Christmas program has been running for more than 25 years and has provided countless families and individuals with a traditional Christmas dinner and gifts for the whole family.
We tailor this program on an ongoing basis to the needs of our active clientele with the help of sponsors who share in our vision of providing a little extra support during what can be an extra difficult time for many, especially our single individuals – who quite often have little to no immediate family or support during the holiday season.

Gift Wrapping
Each year, the Guelph Food Bank operates a gift-wrapping booth inside Stone Road Mall to fundraise donations in exchange for volunteer done gift wrapping. We supply a variety of quality gift wrapping papers and supplies to assist you in getting your gifts ready to give during the very busy holiday hectic season.
